Service
A real mobile app. On the App Store. Maintained by us. From £299.
Native iOS, native Android, or both. Submitted to the store in your name, hosted and maintained by us afterwards. Pay the build up front or split it over monthly instalments. Everything beyond the £299 anchor is agreed in writing when we scope your build - because every project, idea and vision is different.
Don't have an app yet?
You don't need a pitch deck. You need a first version.
Most apps that ever ship start as a hunch the owner has been carrying for a year - a thing the existing setup almost does, that would close the loop if it lived on the home screen of a phone. We don't need a finished spec, a polished prototype, or a designer's deliverable to start. We need a description of what the app is for, who's going to open it on a Tuesday morning, and what would have to be true for them to keep doing so.
The £299 build anchor exists so the first version is a low-friction commitment - small enough to be a real experiment, not a project. Bigger scopes - multi-screen apps, in-app purchase, AI features, integrations - are agreed in writing when we scope your build.
What we build
Five shapes of build. Every one is scoped to your business - no templates pulled off a shelf. Pick the closest, or describe yours in the enquiry form and we'll work it out.
A website that's doing the heavy lifting and a hunch that an app on the home screen would close the loop. We talk through what the app would actually be for, agree the scope, and build the first version - on a stack you own.
Your buyer is on iPhone. Submit native to the App Store in your name, with the app icon, the screenshots, the review reply chain, the lot. Android ships later when the numbers say it should.
Your buyer is on Android - sometimes that's the UK trade audience, sometimes it's a regional one. Submit native to the Play Store in your name, same shape, Android-first.
One product, two stores, one engagement. The two builds stay in step - same look, same flows, same release cadence - so you can point a customer at either store without thinking about which.
Started on Bubble, Glide, Adalo, or a web-wrapper that's hit its ceiling - the monthly bill has crept, the editor fights you, store review keeps rejecting it for being a wrapper. We rebuild it native, keep the data, and submit it in your name.
Real apps, shipped or in review
Four apps we've built - three live on the App Store, one pending Play Store review. Every claim on this page points back to one of these.
storytimebaker - iOS
A children's story-time app for parents. Native iOS, in-app purchase, 45+ locales. Shipped to the App Store under our own name.
storytimebaker - Android
The same app, native on Android, pending Play Store review. Same product, two stores, one engagement - the shape we'd build for any iOS-and-Android-both buyer.
mendbuddy - iOS
Our own AI-agent product, native on iPhone for the operator who runs the inbox. Live on the App Store under our own name.
repairminder - iOS
Native iPhone app for the repair-shop operator - dashboard, lead inbox, customer portal. Live on the App Store; the pattern for any UK SME running a small ops team that lives on a phone.
How pricing works
One number anchors everything: builds from £299. Beyond that, every build is scoped to the business it is for - we talk it through first, agree the scope and the price in writing, then build.
Build
One-off. Quoted and agreed in writing before any work starts. Bigger apps - multi-screen, in-app purchase, AI features, integrations, iOS and Android together - cost more. The scope conversation sets the number.
Hosting & maintenance
The backend the app talks to, store-listing updates, small change requests, OS-version upgrades, review-queue resubmits as the platform shifts under us. The monthly figure is agreed when we scope your build, because every app sits on a different shape of backend.
Store fees & review
Apple's developer programme and Google Play's developer registration are billed by the platforms themselves, in your name. If your app sells anything in-app, Apple and Google take their cut on those transactions - their rules, not ours. We handle the review-queue conversation either way.
Pay monthly instead of all at once
Split-pay over monthly instalments is always available, on any build. Number of months and terms agreed at scope alongside the build price itself - because every project, idea and vision is different.
Often paired with
A mobile app rarely lives alone. Most engagements that ship an app also ship one of the following - the website the app points at, the search work that brings people to it, or the AI agent that powers the operator side of it.
The marketing front door the app links out to - the page a prospect lands on before they download. Same shape as this service: build from £99, hosting on top, agreed at scope.
How the people who'd download the app find the marketing site that points at the store listing. Monthly retainer, scoped to your goals, no rigid grid.
The AI agent inside the app - operator-side suggestions, customer-side replies, RAG over the business's own knowledge. Scoped per use case; no "deploy in 24 hours" promise.
FAQ
How much does a mobile app cost?
Builds start from £299. Beyond that there is no fixed price grid - every app is scoped to the business it is for, because every project, idea and vision is different. We talk through what you actually need, agree the scope and the price in writing, then build. Monthly hosting and maintenance sit on top and are agreed in the same conversation.
iOS, Android, or both?
Either - or both. We build native for both stores by default and the same engagement can cover one or the other or both at once. Most buyers we work with start on the platform their actual customers are on (iPhone for most UK consumer audiences; Android for some trade and regional ones), and add the other when the numbers say it's time.
We're on Bubble / Glide / Adalo / a web-wrapper - can you rebuild it native?
Yes - replatforming off a no-code app builder is one of the five shapes of work we do under this service. We rebuild the app native, keep your existing data, and submit it to the store in your name. The store-review queue is part of the engagement; we handle the rejection-and-resubmit cycle so you don't have to learn the rules.
Do you do the hosting too?
Yes. The build is one number; the monthly hosting + maintenance retainer is the second. It covers the cost of keeping the app live - the backend the app talks to, store-listing updates, small change requests, OS-version upgrades and review-queue resubmits as the platform shifts under us. The monthly figure is agreed when we scope your build, because every app sits on a different shape of backend.
Can I pay monthly instead of all at once?
Yes - split-pay over monthly instalments is always available on any build. The number of months and the terms are agreed at scope, alongside the build price itself, because every project is different.
What about App Store and Play Store review?
We submit in your name and handle the review-queue conversation - the metadata, the screenshots, the privacy disclosures, the rejection-and-resubmit cycle if Apple or Google come back with something. The build only counts as done when the app is live in both stores, or in whichever one you're targeting first.
Do we have to take the hosting after the build is done?
The hosting + maintenance retainer is how the app stays alive - the backend, store-listing updates, OS-version upgrades, small changes by message. The terms of that arrangement are part of the contract we agree when we scope your build; what does and doesn't carry on if the relationship ends sits in there too. We'd rather agree the answer in writing than promise a one-size-fits-all on a marketing page.
What does the enquiry process look like?
Fill in the form below. Tell us what your business does, where you cover, and roughly what the app is for - or just write 'don't know - help'. We come back within 24 hours by email with a sketch of what we'd build and a price. If it lands, we agree it in writing and start. No calendar widget, no discovery call, no demo.
Tell us about your app
What's the app for, who'd open it on a Tuesday morning, and what would have to be true for them to keep doing so? Don't know - that's fine, just write 'help' in the box. We'll come back within 24 hours by email with a sketch of what we'd build and a price.
