Service

Found on Google for the things your customers actually search.

The SEO basics that move the needle for a small business - mobile-first, fast, structured data, a Google Business Profile that's looked after - are baked into every site we build. This page is what we offer on top of that, monthly, for businesses that want more pages ranking for more of the queries that turn into work.

Optional. Scoped per project. Agreed in writing before any work starts, because every project, idea and vision is different.

Editorial scene of a UK customer finding a local business on Google on a Sunday evening

Not ranking?

Google your service, your town. What did you find?

Most small businesses we talk to come up when somebody Googles their business name - and disappear when somebody Googles what they actually do. That's the gap the build closes first, and the retainer keeps closed against competition that doesn't sit still.

No guarantees of a page-one ranking by a certain week - because anyone giving you one is either guessing or lying. What we will do is tell you what's realistic for your market before you sign, and report monthly on what we've moved.

What the retainer covers

Four pieces of work that sit inside every retainer we run, plus two optional add-ons that stack on top when they earn their keep. Mix and match at scope.

baseline
Google Business Profile

Set up if you don't have one, taken over if you do. Monthly upkeep - photos, services, opening hours, posts, questions, reviews answered. The single biggest mover for any local business that wants the map pack to find them.

baseline
Local citations & NAP consistency

Your business name, address and phone number written the same way across the UK directories Google actually trusts. Inconsistent listings are one of the quiet reasons local rankings stall - we audit, fix, and keep them aligned as you grow.

baseline
On-page & technical

Titles, meta, headings, schema, internal linking, page speed. The work that makes each page tell Google exactly what it does, for the people actually searching that. Most of this sits on top of a build that already has the basics right - we tune, we don't tear up.

baseline
Monthly performance report

Plain-English snapshot, every month. Where you ranked, what changed, what brought calls and form submissions in, what we changed and why. Not a 40-page PDF nobody reads - a short page you'd send to your accountant if they asked what the retainer was doing.

optional add-on
Content cadence

Optional add-on. Regular posts written for the queries your buyers actually search - landing on your site, your Google Business Profile, and your social channels. We run the publishing schedule through our own social-posting tool, planpost, so it stays sustainable instead of stalling after month two.

optional add-on
Link-building

Optional add-on. Outreach to UK trade press, local titles, and industry directories that send real traffic. Slow, manual, no link farms - the kind of links that don't get penalised when Google updates its algorithm.

Real businesses we look after

Five UK small businesses we already run sites for. Every one of them has a Google Business Profile we've set up or look after, and a build shaped so Google can tell what the business actually does. Click any of them and check for yourself.

How pricing works

One shape: a monthly retainer, agreed at scope. There's no public £/mo figure on this page, and not because it's a secret - because every project, idea and vision is different. A solo trader covering one town and a regional business covering six don't share a price; pretending otherwise on a rate card means somebody is overpaying.

Retainer

Monthly, agreed at scope

We talk through what you want more of (calls, enquiries, bookings, sales), look at the shape of your market, and agree the scope and the monthly figure in writing before any work starts. Add-ons (content cadence, link-building) stack on top by the same logic.

Cancellation

No long lock-in

Retainers run month to month with a short notice period agreed at scope - not a twelve-month contract you regret in month three. If we can't show you the work is earning its keep in the monthly reports, you shouldn't be paying for it.

Pay monthly instead of all at once

An SEO retainer is already monthly, so split-pay isn't usually the relevant question here. Where it does come up is around a one-off piece of work that sometimes lands in the same scope conversation - a technical audit, a migration onto a stack we can rank, a content backfill. Split-pay over monthly instalments is always available on that kind of work, with terms agreed at scope alongside everything else.

Often paired with

Most SEO retainers land in the same scope conversation as the build itself, the mobile app that points at the site, or the AI agent customers find through search. The retainer rarely stands alone.

FAQ

Will you guarantee I rank on page one?

No - and anyone who does is selling you something they can't deliver. Google's ranking is decided by Google, not the agency you've hired; the honest job is to make sure your site, your Google Business Profile and your local listings give Google every reason to rank you when it makes sense to. We'll tell you what's realistic for your market before you sign.

How long before the retainer shows results?

Months, not weeks. Google needs to recrawl, your competitors don't sit still, and the work compounds rather than spikes. A reasonable expectation is gradual improvement over the first few months, with the bigger jumps usually coming once a year of consistent work has stacked. We report monthly so you can see the line moving, not just trust us that it is.

Do I even need an SEO retainer?

Most small business sites don't. The basics that move the needle - mobile-first, fast, structured data, a Google Business Profile that's looked after - are baked into every site we build. The retainer is for businesses competing in busier markets, ones wanting more pages ranking for more queries, or ones that just want it done by somebody else every month. If a retainer wouldn't earn its keep, we'll say so.

How much does the retainer cost?

Agreed at scope, because every project, idea and vision is different. A solo trader covering one town doesn't need the same retainer as a regional services business with six locations - and pretending they do, on a published price list, means somebody is overpaying. We'll talk through what you actually need, agree the scope and the monthly figure in writing, then start.

I didn't build my site with you - can you still do my SEO?

Yes - although we'd want a short audit first to see what the build is doing for or against you. If the foundations are sound, the retainer slots straight on top. If they're working against you (slow on mobile, no schema, broken on phones, dated CMS dragging things down), we'll be honest about that and tell you whether a rebuild would earn its keep before we start charging you for SEO on a site that can't carry it.
